This coin is a 1976-D Bicentennial Kennedy Half Dollar, issued to commemorate the 200th anniversary of U.S. independence. The obverse features President John F. Kennedy with dual-dated 1776–1976, designed by Gilroy Roberts. The reverse depicts Independence Hall in Philadelphia, designed by Seth G. Huntington, with the legends “200 YEARS OF FREEDOM” and “INDEPENDENCE HALL.”
