This is a 1976 (Bicentennial) Kennedy Half Dollar, issued to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the United States. The obverse bears a dual date 1776–1976 and features President John F. Kennedy, designed by Gilroy Roberts. The reverse, by Seth G. Huntington, depicts Independence Hall in Philadelphia, with inscriptions “200 YEARS OF FREEDOM” and “INDEPENDENCE HALL.”
