McCoy Spirit of ’76 Cookie Jar

Vintage McCoy pottery “Spirit of ’76” cookie jar featuring a patriotic bald eagle with outstretched wings over crossed American flags. This ceramic jar includes the original fitted lid with handle and is finished in McCoy’s classic brown and cream glaze. The underside is marked “Carved Wooden Eagle, Artist Unknown, National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.,” consistent with McCoy’s Bicentennial-era patriotic production. Measures approximately 7.5 inches tall including lid and about 5 inches in diameter. Condition is very good with no cracks or chips noted, showing light glaze wear and normal age-related surface marks.
