McCoy Spirit of ’76 Cookie Jar

Vintage McCoy pottery “Spirit of ’76” cookie jar featuring a patriotic bald eagle with outstretched wings over crossed American flags. This ceramic jar includes the original fitted lid with handle and is finished in McCoy’s brown and cream glaze. The base is marked “Carved Wooden Eagle, Artist Unknown, National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.” along with the impressed McCoy mark, consistent with Bicentennial-era production. Measures approximately 8 inches tall including the lid and about 5.5 inches in diameter. Condition is very good overall with no cracks or chips noted, showing light glaze variations, minor kiln marks, and normal base wear consistent with age.
